What you'll learn

This intermediate level B1/B2 French course, in line with the requirements of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, is part of the dual “training with digital technology” and “language and interculturality” program set up by the University of Paris Saclay. It is aimed at all students wishing to continue their higher education in France. It will not only allow them to have the required level in French to take courses in the French higher education system in terms of language skills, but will also help them adapt to their new environment in the best possible conditions.

This course offers an immersion in the student world through course videos, texts in multiple formats, short film excerpts and authentic videos that give voice to French or foreign students living in France. Students will be able to work on all skills (oral and written comprehension, oral and written expression, grammar and vocabulary), then test their knowledge using the many quizzes offered and, each week, they will also have the opportunity to participate in debates and discussions organized on the forum. Discover life in France and in the French-speaking world through its cultures, literature, films, television news and its language (standard and more familiar) and understand the French higher education system (attend a lecture, understand how assessment works, etc.): these are some of the challenges of this course. Its objectives are therefore linguistic, but also cultural and practical! Important note: this Mooc does not replace taking tests attesting to level B1 or B2 such as those proposed by the Ciep: TCF, Delf or Dalf. This course was funded thanks to the support of the University of Paris-Saclay and that of the Patrick and Lina Drahi Foundation.
